Is the Procedure done in the Office?
Yes. Laser treatments for nail fungus are quick, lasting approximately 30-60 minutes depending on the severity of your toenail infection. Your nails may need to be thinned prior to your laser treatment in order to achieve the best results. You will be assisted by experienced Chiropodists registered with the College of Chiropodists of Ontario.
How Many Treatments do I Need?
Depending on the severity of your condition, 3 treatments are usually recommended. The treatments are done one month apart.
Does the Treatment Hurt?
The nail laser treatments are usually quite comfortable. You may experience a gentle warming or tingling as the laser works to clear your nail.
Does it Work and How Soon Will I See Improvement?
On average, a toenail will replace itself every 12-18 months. Healthy new growth will be visible within the first 2 months as your nails continue to grow following the laser treatment.
What are the Toenail Laser Fungus Treatment Side Effects?
That is the great news! There are no side effects on your body as the light beam of the laser treatment is focused on the affected area only. That makes this treatment a very safe alternative to oral prescription medication and there is no interruption in your regular activities.
