I would like to introduce myself, my name is Lavanya Amirthalingam. I am a graduate from the University of Western Ontario with my Masters of Physical Therapy which followed a Bachelors of Science degree in Kinesiology Co-op at the University of Waterloo.
I am thrilled to be joining the We-Fix-U team at their Cobourg location, a clinic dedicated in providing high quality physiotherapy so patients can live a pain free and active lifestyle.
I’m passionate about helping my patients live a healthy and pain free life. I’m told by my patients that I am a great listener as I take the time to really listen, this is how I build trust and confidence with my patients. My treatment style is very hands on, heavy on education and an emphasis on building a stable foundation through exercise. I also want to work together with my patients to create a comprehensive treatment plan so that they know how to take care of their body for the long term. My treatments require a full hour to maximize the results.
The ideal patient to for me would be those that like to get involved in the recovery process and need the support and encouragement to reach their goals. I’m a great teacher and motivator. Condition wise, I love shoulders and my experience and extended education would be for those clients that have shoulder conditions from rotator cuff injuries/strains/tears to frozen shoulders.
Outside the clinic, you can find me trying out new recipes, binge watching Netflix and exploring new cities with my family and friends.
