Five Things You Should Know About Chiropractic Care

Did you know? There is no age limit when it comes to chiropractic care.

Getting great results with chiropractic care? Excellent! You join the millions who have benefited from an all-natural approach to better health. But there’s a lot more that’s possible. Here are a few things you might not know about chiropractic care.

1. There are no age limits.

Chiropractic care isn’t just for adults-it’s for everyone who wants to live and feel better, from newborn infants to seniors and everyone in between. Adjusting techniques are tailored to the size, weight and each individual’s specific spinal issue.

2. The first sign of a problem isn’t always pain.

A lot of patients come to us because they’re in pain. But even if your pain is relatively new, the root cause of it could be weeks, months or even years old. Why? Because your body is so adaptive it can take a long time before it runs out of adaptive capacity and symptoms appear.

3. We’re not magic – your body is.

While we love it when our patients call our techniques “magic,” you should know that our methods are simply tools to help your body express true health and wellness. Our job is to get your nervous system functioning optimally so that your body can heal and self-regulate itself without the need for drugs or surgery.

4. Adjustments are unique, just like you.

The beauty of chiropractic care is that we’re able to tailor and create an individual care plan just for your specific needs. This helps us target your problem areas and work on uncovering the root cause of the issue.

5. Optimal results are a team effort.

If you feel great after being adjusted, that’s wonderful. But our hope for patients is that their quest for health doesn’t stop there. The best results seem to occur when we do our job (locate and reduce nervous system interference) and you do your job (better nutrition, proper rest and exercise, reducing stress and keeping your visits).

Our collaborative team of multidisciplinary healthcare practitioners use a holistic approach to your well being. This allows us to consult with various experts on our team, to ensure we aim to give you the best and most comprehensive approach to getting you better.

Chiropractic Care Explained in Demonstration

What is a chiropractor?

Chiropractors are specialists in manual adjustments of the vertebrae of the spine and other joints. Chiropractors are also trained to prescribe therapeutic exercise, provide nutritional counselling, and recommend rehabilitation and prevention strategies. Chiropractic care can help you maintain a healthy spine and joint function. When you walk into a clinic at We-Fix-U, you could expect Registered Chiropractors who are experienced and recognized by the College of Chiropractors of Ontario. Our chiropractors are also members of the Ontario Chiropractic Association

Adjustments help relieve pain and increasing the supporting structures of the body so that you can get back to enjoying your PAIN-FREE life again.

The benefits of chiropractic care include:

  • Improved movement in your neck, shoulders, back and torso
  • Better posture
  • Relief from headaches, neck and back pain
  • Prevention of work-related muscle and joint injuries
  • Improved range of motion and flexibility
  • Relief of pregnancy-related back ache
  • Correction of gait and foot problems
  • Exercises that strengthen your muscles and prevent future injuries

The importance of Spinal Health

Your body’s nervous system is protected by the spine. Our nervous system travels between the vertebrae of joints of the spine to deliver messages from the brain to every other body part. Stress and strain on the vertebrae can put pressure on the nerves in the affected area causing symptoms of pain in other parts of the body.

What We-Fix-U patients are saying:

Very clean facility. Staff are very friendly. My Chiropractor is very thorough and helpful. I feel so much better after my appointments!”

How many treatments will it take to get better?

Your We-Fix-U Chiropractor will be better able to address this during your initial assessment. The number and frequency of adjustments vary from patient to patient. Most patients see some progress within a week or two. Many people discover the value of ongoing chiropractic checkups to avoid further deterioration.

Do I need a referral?

We do NOT require a doctor’s referral to assess or treat your condition as we are considered a primary health care provider.

What about x-rays and other things?

If necessary, we can order x-rays, MRI’s, CT’s and bone density tests for you, as recommended by our health professional support team.

How does billing work?

We can direct bill most extended health benefit insurance plans. Most extended health benefit plans cover Chiropractic Care. We accept private pay and insurance plans. The Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) does not cover Chiropractic Care.
